This review is from: Hello Kitty: A Day of Thanks (Hardcover)
This is a very sweet book. My 2-year-old daughter adores it. We bought it last year around Thanksgiving time because I wanted her to start young with an understanding that there is more to Thanksgiving than eating turkey and Grandma’s jello salad. This book was absolutely wonderful. However, it need not be tucked away just for Thanksgiving. The theme of the book is that a teacher asks “Hello, Kitty” to write an essay about what she is most thankful for. The book tells the story of many things for which she is grateful, and ends by drawing the conclusion that everything she is grateful for includes her family and friends, so ultimately, that is what she writes her essay about. It is a wonderful story, and it’s short enough that if your toddler keeps saying “again” at the end of the book, you’ll be able to read it more than once without keeping him/her up too late at bedtime.
