would not it be a nice gesture if u made the room according to ur step daughters preference. ur baby is a baby and wont understand anything but ur step daugher will appreciate it and value ur considering her wishes.
u can re paint the room when ur baby is of an age to understand what she might like .

I would just give them a nice, nuetral, girly decor in the room and then let them “decorate” their own sides with the items they like. Give them each a dresser or shelf on their side of the room that they can put their favorite things on.
